Dear YOLE friends,

I sit here in Marseille wondering about how to respond to the natural
disaster
in Myanmar. We see the disaster being instrumentalised by politicians.
In
a similar situation with the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean , we tried to
work
through the UNESCO Digiarts project to see how to help, but all these
efforts
seem adhoc, and reactive rather than systemic and pro active.

I am an Apple user, but not necessarily an Apple fan. I think there is a mistake to create "religions" based on computer preferences. However after analyzing some projects like OLCP focused on the education for kids the question about computing and education for teenagers and young people became obvious.

this is an interesting book looking at the interpenetration of both art and
science of ideas from math - the mysterious effectiveness of mathematics
as eugene wigner called it
