Society and Genetics and moderated by
Christopher Kelty, the Outlaw Biology
symposium explored new forms of public
participation in biological research,
raised questions and cultivated ideas
about how life could and should be
studied.

Panelists addressed issues including
do-it-yourself biology, open source
science, at home medical genetics,
bioart*, and novel ethical engagements
with science at the cutting edge.
