Today is my last full day here at UCLA. It has been a good two weeks. I learned a lot of information about science and art, but mostly science. The labs were my favorite part of the experience. I think ferrofluids are really cool and I was blown away when I heard we were making some. I always thought that it was just another science topic that existed and I would never really see or have hands-on time with. The exploration of things like that was definitely the best. Also watching sci-fi movies that I probably would have never watched on my own was really fun. Bladerunner was a cool movie, definitely one of the best of the sci-fi genre. Also the projects were a lot of fun but also a lot of work. I think it would have been more beneficial to have the project proposals due earlier than the 1st Friday. It would ease a lot of the tension of the following week. Even though my group was done early Thursday night, it would have been nice to have not had the rush of the last few days. Some groups are still working on their projects as I write this blog, I do not envy them. Considering the groups have to present tomorrow, sleep deprivation is anything but helpful.I had a lot of fun filming my project and editing it with my group. I was pretty skeptical of a video project throughout the beginning of our planning period because I knew how long that video projects could take with filming and editing. Eventually I caved and thus the video commenced and now that its finished I am quite proud of it, even though it was censored. The cocaine scene was quite funny, I thought, but I can clearly see why parents might have an issue with it. All in all it has been a great two weeks, but its finally over. w00t!!!11!!1
