Co-Sponsored by the National Space Society and the Planetary Society
Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Los Angeles International Airport Los Angeles,
California
Space Art colleagues from around the globe are invited
to join us in Los Angeles for a Space Art Track that will be held as a
part of the International Space Development Conference 2006 in the city
of Los Angeles.
The Zero Gravity Arts Consortium¹s International Conference Program
in collaboration with the STUDIO For Creative Inquiry at the College of
Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University will help organize this Space
Art Track, with Lowry Burgess and Frank Pietronigro serving the community
as Co-Chairs.
This is a general invitation for you to consider attending the Space Art
Track so that you have an opportunity to mark this event on your 2006
calendar. Details on ISDC2006 and specific opportunities for project presentations,
panel discussions and other Space Art Track programs will be forwarded
to you shortly.
SPACE ART: GLOBAL CULTURAL DIVERSITY
The Co-Chairs of the Space Art Track wish to fortify
conference participation from people representing the diversity and cultural
richness of our global community as reflected in the population of our
host city Los Angeles.
The Space Art practice is a global, human cultural endeavor that transcends
national boundaries. Every human experiences the force of gravity flowing
through our bodies and people from all parts of the world look up to our
sky, from their unique cultural view points, and dream about floating
regardless of our location on the planet.
It is our vision, as Co-Chairs, that many of these different points of
view are represented in this Space Art Track. To support this vision we
will actively recruit participants from around the globe.
Gravity Pulse: Theme For A Space Art Track
The following theme, Gravity Pulse, was originally conceived
and written by Lowry Burgess and will be used as a guide during the development
of presentations and panels held as a part of the Space Art Track. Participants
will be asked to consider this theme in preparation for the Space Art
Track. [...]
As a part of the Space Art Track, artists and teams
will collaborate in developing an ensemble of artworks to explore and
express the continuous interacting presence of all three states of gravity
within the pulsation of a parabolic flight.

Art Track, please contact Lowry Burgess or Frank Pietronigro
