/ Neuroscientist, co-founder Mindful Awareness Research Center, UCLA /
T. Sigi Hale, Ph.D is a Co-Founder of UCLA’s Mindful
Awareness Research Center and a Post-doctoral Fellow in Neuroscience at UCLA
Neuropsychiatric Institute. His research explores the implications of
human beings possessing two distinct and specialized brain hemispheres. In
particular, he studies how atypical cerebral asymmetry contributes to the diversity
of intelligence styles among human beings as well as psychopathology. Outside
of science, he has been a life long practitioner of martial arts and various
mindfulness practices. He currently
operates a sports training program that teaches mindfulness and ‘physical
intelligence’ to young
athletes with aspirations to become professional soccer players. In the
near future, he hopes to participate in the development of a movement-based mindfulness
curriculum that can be evaluated as a potential component of an intervention
treatment for ADHD and other disorders.
