Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

On Tuesday night – well, technically on Wednesday morning – our whole Sci/Art Nanotech group walked to Westwood to see the premiere of  Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. We each paid our counselor nine dollars for a ticket and went around eleven o’clock at night to wait in line to get descent seats. The line was incredibly long, but I surprisingly enjoyed waiting in it. We were entertained by a singing homeless, crazy man and of course, by one another. Energy drinks helped too, I must add. When we finally reached the theatre, we rushed to find seats and waited until twelve for the movie to begin. I must say, the theatre was beautiful and larger than life! So the first two hours of the movie consisted of subtle scenes, mild humor, and romance between the main characters. It was interesting, but did not completely grab my attention. Sadly, I began to doze off at a few parts. The final climactic scene of the movie was very sad and gloomy, and did not contain as much action as I expected. I felt like nothing good came out of the entire movie and that it was pointless and depressing. After three hours of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Dumbledore, the movie finally ended. Dragging myself on the streets of Westwood until three in the morning was definitely not worth it. I was disappointed by the movie and would have much rather have seen it on a warm, comfortable sofa at home on HBO.
