Introducing New Members of the Art|Sci Team

The Art|Sci Center has expanded its team! 

 

 

Clarissa Ribiero, Fulbright scholar in residence at Gimzewski’s Pico Lab and the Art | Sci center until June.

 

Clarissa has a Ph.D. in Visual Arts by the School of Communications and Arts of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. From 2009 to 2010 she was a visiting postgraduate research member of the CAiiA-Hub, Planetary Collegium, under the supervision of Professor Roy Ascott. At ECA/USP, she is a member of the Digital Poetics group, headed by Gilbertto Prado. Director of the Double collective, her research interests are focused on the intersections between art, digital technologies and the sciences of complexity.

Dustin O’Hara is working with Victoria Vesna on the BIRDS: Acoustic Sensor Array of Bird Communication Networks. They are developing an art project based on the research of evolutionary biologist Charles Taylor (NSF funded project)

After graduating from UCLA Design | Media Arts, Dustin worked for a PBS documentary series as a video editor, studied with THE PUBLIC SCHOOL in LA, was a member of REMAP: an experimental media lab, apprenticed at Green Gulch: an intentional community & organic farm, and was a resident at CheLA: a community/media arts compound in Bueno Aires. In 2011 Dustin finished an MFA in the Digital Arts New Media program at UCSC and currently is a PhD student at UCLA’s Information Studies.

Mick Larousso, bioartist arrived recently from Mexico and is in charge of exhibition coordination and giving workshops in biotech and art.
