Vibrations Matter: Resonant Spaces | 'T' Space

Victoria Vesna, the founder/director of the UCLA Art|Sci Center and Art Sci Now, presents an online lecture, “Vibrations Matter: resonant spaces” as a part of the 2026 'T' Space Residency lecture series. Through immersive installations spanning two decades, Victoria Vesna explores architecture as a medium for resonance, listening, and embodied perception.

Victoria Vesna, Ph.D., is an artist, professor at the UCLA Department of Design Media Arts, and founder/director of the UCLA Art|Sci Center. With a background in painting, experimental media, and sound, her work has evolved into a research-based practice bridging art, science, technology, and embodied experience. Through immersive installations and long-term collaborations with scientists, composers, engineers, architects, and scholars, she explores how invisible systems — from nanoscale structures and biological processes to sound, vibration, and planetary phenomena — shape perception, collective behavior, and our relationship to place. She has exhibited and lectured internationally, is North American editor of *AI & Society*, and is currently working on *Vibrations Matter: The Art & Science of Listening*.
