Honors seminar: Biotechnology and Art

Biotech & Art is an Honors seminar.

Bioartists use cells, DNA molecules, proteins, and living tissues to bring to life ethical, social, and aesthetic issues of sciences. This course will study how bioart blurs distinctions between science and art through the combination of artistic and scientific processes, creating wide public debate. We wil explore the history of biotechnology as well as social implications of this science.

Art, Science & Technology

Art, Science & Technology is an introductory course that explores how similar technologies are driving new forms of art and science. It broadly surveys scientific and technological innovations, using technology in innovative ways; it is art inspired by science and art / science collaborative projects. Art is taken to encompass contemporary forms of expression that are technologically driven.
