Leonardo Art Science Evening (LASER) of April 4 @ Stanford

Leonardo ISAST and Stanford University invite you to the next Leonardo Art/Science Evening Rendezvous, an evening of art and science presentations.

Like previous evenings the agenda includes four presentations of art/science projects, news from the audience, and time for casual socializing/networking.

Land Art for the Next 10,000 Years - Berkeley, CA

"How do you build an monument scale sculptural machine that will last as long as civilization?  For the last fifteen years The Long Now Foundation and Alexander Rose have been working on building this icon of long-term thinking.  Rose is currently managing the 10,000 Year Clock project underway in West Texas where they have already excavated over 500 vertical feet through solid rock to house the Clock.

Exploratorium Opening Day - SF

To celebrate Opening Day at Pier 15, the Exploratorium will offer free, outdoor programming from morning to night. On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, artists, special guests, volunteers, and Explainers will offer a variety of surprises and hands-on activities for people waiting in line. The doors officially open at 10:00 a.m. after a distinctly Exploratorium ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Frank Rothkamm tonight (3/27) at Harvestworks: 7PM!

Using a multi-dimension synthesizer, proprietary software and a hammer to engage the sight, sound & mind, Frank will present K5 as the Fifth State of Matter, a lecture/performance/presentation that draws from Conceptual & Performance Art, Fourier Analysis & Synthesis, Platonic Philosophy & Numerology, Discrete Mathematics & Visualization, History of Computing & Masonic theater.

Ph.D. in Network Music Performance (NMP) in Beijing

Network Music Performance (NMP) is an area of study that focuses on various music practices that occur on networks. The focus of this degree will be to explore advanced applications of live, interactive music performances on high-speed research networks. A critical mass of literature and documented practice now allows us to support this degree which will be issued by CCOM with the support of a global academic Network of Advisers.

HYBRID IDENTITIES | Edinburgh 2013 - Opening

Opening: March 29th, 2013

HYBRID IDENTITIES, an International Art Festival of Photography, Video Art, Computer Graphics, Architecture and Performing Art, will be held in the city of Edinburgh, at the creative space The Old Ambulance Depot, from March 29th 2013, to March 31st 2013. Fifty artists, from different countries, have been selected to be part of this project.
