June 23, 2012, is the Centenary of Alan Turing’s birth in London. During his relatively brief life, Turing made a unique impact on the history of computing, computer science, artificial intelligence, developmental biology, and the mathematical theory of computability.

January 10 marked the opening of Art|Sci Artist in Residence Colleen Macklin's exhibition at the winter North | South mixer. Included in this was some of her recent experiments and prototypes, including the debut of a new playable prototype of a two-player game for the iPad. Colleen also gave a guest lecture at Victoria Vesna's UCLA course Hybrid Worlds: Nano-Biotech Plus Art which was free and open to the public.

DUBLIN’S SCIENCE Gallery has received a €1 million award from Google to establish a network of similar galleries in cities around the world. The gallery is already in negotiations with Moscow and London as possible locations with other possibilities including New York City and Singapore.

When the first of my 14 dates sat down across from me, my stomach turned a bit. I’d never been speed dating before. What if I got 14 rejections? After all, we came from such different backgrounds! Luckily my fears were completely unfounded. On Thursday night, PositiveFeedback, an initiative of the Earth Institute, the Center for Creative Research at NYU, and the CUNY Institute for Sustainable Cities, brought together artists and climate scientists (or climate science writer in my case) for a round of speed dating. The goal?
